Michael T. Strianese is chief executive officer and chief financial officer of L-3 Communications Corporation. In this position, Mr. Strianese is responsible for the strategic direction and overall management of L-3, as well as the financial structure, strategies, operations, accounting and compliance.
Mr. Strianese served as L-3’s first vice president of finance, controller and corporate ethics officer, playing a key role in the Company’s formation in 1997. He remained in that position through L-3’s Initial Public Offering in 1998 before being promoted to senior vice president of finance in 2001. Mr. Strianese was appointed chief financial officer in 2005. Since the Company’s inception, L-3’s sales have grown from $703 million to approximately $12 billion.
Mr. Strianese also served as L-3’s first corporate ethics officer. In that position, Mr. Strianese successfully implemented a comprehensive interactive ethics and compliance training program and serves as the L-3 representative to the Defense Industry Initi
Mr. Strianese was formerly vice president and controller of Lockheed Martin’s C3 and Systems Integration Sector, a $6 billion sector consisting of many of the heritage Loral Corporation businesses that were acquired by Lockheed Martin on April 23, 1996. In addition, he served as acting chief financial officer of Lockheed Martin’s Electronics Sector.
Prior to Lockheed’s acquisition of Loral, Mr. Strianese spent six years as Loral’s director of special projects, where he was responsible for the integration of the Company’s major acquisitions, notably, Ford Aerospace Corp., LTV’s missile business, IBM Federal Systems and Unisys Defense Systems.
Prior to joining Loral, Mr. Strianese was a senior manager at a ‘big six’ public accounting firm he joined in 1978. His experience there included serving public company clients as a member of the audit group. In addition, he served in the firm’s national office, specializing in business combinations and SEC reporting.
Mr. Strianese is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and The New York State Society of CPAs. He is also a member of the Financial Executives Institute.
